Notes - Items with this notation are from the personal collection of Tool Memorabilia and are not property of CU.ORG: There is a story that is not mine to tell about these unique DAT tapes as these were procured by the legendary collector known as Tool Memorabilia from his vast entanglements within the Tool community. The DAT tapes were transferred by Galen in 2012 and given back to the owner. If these tapes exist then you best believe more than these DAT tapes exist in the wild… That said, I’m not implying one can procure what Tool Memorabilia has been able to do over a long collecting career but if you never try, you will never know. Happy hunting.

Notes: OK. The story as I recall it from what I was told is that someone within the band was cool with Dave Ogilvie of Skinny Puppy and James Cavaluzzo of metal band Malhavoc remix Stinkfist and 46 & 2 together. Now, the results, vary. I happen to like the remix of Stinkfist (Rubber Glove mix - I would like to think this was a shoutout to The Smiths but I do not know). The remixes ascertained on not one but two DATs are the same. As far as I can tell, only Stinkfist (Rubber Glove Mix) was actually ever released… Well, but not really. From what I was told, a DJ in New York City ascertained a cassette version of said song and played it once on the radio. It was never played again as there was no copywrite control on the recording but someone, back in the late 1990’s recorded that FM performance and, alas, that is now on YouTube (albeit with zero actual source information). You should go check it out. As a note, there are tons of unofficial remixes of Tool any/everywhere you look if you are looking that is. But these, these are the actual and real remixes. I did you a favor and took about two minutes from each songs of each into one sample above. All in all, a rather interesting and semi-odd entry into the world of Tool’s career. Drum and Bass? Dance mixes? WTF? Honestly, I kind of love that they allowed their music to be heard in a different way. That is/was very unlike the band but I am here for it all.
