1992.04.23 - Boston, MA, USA @ Unknown Venue

Source: Aiwa HS-M2 (built in microphone)
Gen: ANA(M) > CDR(1) > WAV [44.1kHz] > FLAC [Level 8]

Notes: As of Jan 2008, this show is the earliest audience recording to surface. There may be others, hopefully, there will be. The recording itself is not so bad. Decent levels & all but it is a little bit muffled. Up until very late 2007 to early 2008, all sources of this show were transferred from a cassette of unknown generation to a CDR. Then, Mike Ziegler (i.e.: perhaps one of the most well-known Nirvana collectors' around) uploaded a 1G copy of this as a torrent. A definite upgrade. The performance itself is very raw, loud & (a little) angry. There are a few cuts, skips, track transitions & also a liberal amount of tape-hiss to coat the recording (even the 1G copy although on this version there are no track transition issues) -- for those reasons, this may be considered best left for collector's. Yes, even though it is On the other hand, I think every fan should hear just how good this band is when they were unknown & playing for maybe 50 attentive people. From here, they can only go up in the music business. Also, I think that the most amazing performance of Sweat -ever- is on this recording...Also, the audience does not really seem to like Tool very much at all. A bit hostile, you can hear people chatting about the band.
