Notes - Items with this notation are from the personal collection of Tool Memorabilia and are not property of CU.ORG: There is a story that is not mine to tell about these unique DAT tapes as these were procured by the legendary collector known as Tool Memorabilia from his vast entanglements within the Tool community. The DAT tapes were transferred by Galen in 2012 and given back to the owner. If these tapes exist then you best believe more than these DAT tapes exist in the wild… That said, I’m not implying one can procure what Tool Memorabilia has been able to do over a long collecting career but if you never try, you will never know. Happy hunting.
Notes: Clearly, this is very, very close to the production of the album. There are minor, minor EQ differences between this pre-production DAT tape. For example, tracks #6 and #7 of Jimmy; I cannot hear any difference between the two. Someone made the executive decision to choose #7 and I did time it; exactly the same version as on the album (but so is #6). The rest of the tracks sound and/or are the studio versions although Third Eye seems to have slightly raised background whispers in the mix but, maybe, I heard what I wanted to hear. As it is, interesting and rare AF. Excellent job to Tool Memorabilia for discovering this. Being that these are so close to the studio versions and/or are(?) there is no need to post a sample.
