Source A: Mini Disc --- Core Sound Binaurals > Sharp MT77
Remastered by:
CatalystX (2002)
Taper:
Duncan
Gen:
1st from Master

Notes:
There are 2 versions of this recording in the trade-pool, at least on some level: the taper's original MD recording + a recording remastered by CatalystX. The CatalystX version is widely available. This recording is Duncan’s single source not the two-sourced; apparently that was scrapped and there was a reason but I cannot recall what it was - it’s been so long. Sound is equalized, leveled & processed. Some people love these types of live recording/edited/masters, other people simply cannot stand it. I like it - front of stack w/low crowd noise gives a flavor for the sound. Interesting setlist & quite a bit of variety in comparison with other shows of this era. Personally, this is one of my favorite performances of 2002. Clean, clear & dynamic both audibly + setlist.

"Thank you John. John from Pablo on drums, thank you. Thank you very much for your support, we're hoping that we serve as a catalyst, uh, for inspiration or healing or both. Especially in these relatively dark times. Hopefully, the good guys will win & uh creativity will find it's place amongst all of this."

Notes:
Not really a bad recording by any means but the presence or ambience just isn't really all the way there. If that makes sense. There is a bit of fuzz on this recording, not sure where the cause is from...sounds like computer static. Maybe the taper had his microphone gain too high when putting this onto CD...I don't know. That's what it sounds like.  Not that bad if you adjust the levels on your stereo. All in all, there are better audio sources available.

Source C: Mini Disc --- Sound Pro Cardioids > SPSB-2 Battery Box > Sharp SR-60
Taper:

Gen:
  1st from Master

Notes:
The sound on this recording versus the taper's 05.12.02 recording is a bit noticeable; this sounds much fuller & better overall. More like you are there then if you are in the stands or right outside the curtain, buying a beer... make sense? Not only is everything just a little louder, the crowd noise is just simply cut out & the instruments compliment the venue nicely. No brickwalls, no obtrusive random noises or issues; all in all, a good recording.

2nd from Master

Notes:
First, I would like to point out that the video is reported to be 2nd from the taper. That said & upon inspection, it would be debatable as to if this is truly a 2nd Gen; I would think more like a 3-4. That said upgrade is requested w/verifiable source info.
Notes:
Relatively, a decent recording. Basically, this is a MJK + Danny-angle recording. All Maynard : all the time. There are some rather interesting contrasts of the screen & MJK in front of it. In this respect, this is rather unique. If nothing else, this is an interesting capture of an interesting performance. Videos from this leg of the tour are few & far between. We should be so lucky. Interesting show and very nice to see it on video. A little grainy & a little unfocused, this is of average skill -- related to concert taping. Sound is ok - pretty standard fare for a video recording to be honest. This is the same taper as 06.12.01. He is quite untrustworthy. I'm surprised someone actually received his recording. But, thankfully, someone did & he sold it. People in London or who go there can find his merchandise/tapings in Camden Town at the Camden Town stalls on Thurs, Friday & Sat. His booth is right across the street from Dingwalls club, in an open air hallway, next to the bridge. Go there, and you can purchase first generations of loads & loads of stuff. This may sound like useless information to you, maybe it is -- maybe it isn't. There are not any known Master>DVD transfers available.
