Notes: Sound is mildly brickwalled like many MiniDV recordings. Filmed from the right-hand side the video catches some very tasty angles & close-ups. Worth checking out even though there is the classic VHS>DVD transfer line on the DVD. Looks like it could potentially be a 1G VHS or maybe a 2G VHS but neither of those are verifiable. However, there are quite a few digi-pops/clicking & whatnot which are an annoying issue. Not sure whether this is from the taper or caused by whoever transferred this show to VCD. The performance is quite good & has a nice presence about it. Sort of like, Tool is not just going through the motions this night but are performing to perform. If that makes any sense. Basic performance with a rather professional one at that. This DVD seems to be from a slightly lower VHS than the VCD. Speaking of, stay away from the VCD rip, it sucks. All in all. the audio is crisp as well as the video being at least average interest. The filmer had a pretty steady hand it seems: lots of close-ups on Adam, Maynard, Dan, Justin and the screens. The filmer was in the back of the venue, left center. You can tell that this was not transferred from the taper due to the common issues associated with VHS recordings - slightly grainy. Still, the DVD is an upgrade from the very common VCD. All in all, a good enough video for pretty much anyone's tastes.
Maynardism: "Good evening."
