Notes by Taper: Located in distant seats centre of stage. Had it's advantages, no crowd noise and a clearer mix, particularly Maynard's vocals. Downside was wind and slight rain during performance, alas some noticeable phasing/drowning of sound at times.
Notes by Nameloc: "Think for yourself….question authority....Think for yourself...question authority.." Yup..sounds like Timothy Leary is standing right in my living room speaking to me..quite loudly. I immediately noticed a clarity with this recording..one that you dont hear often enough. I suspect the clarity comes more from a moderate distance in relation to the sound source rather than….well.. anything else, as there is a slight "delay" on the sound which wouldnt be there had the taper been closer. The overall mix is pretty good (there is some minor "phasing" throughout the recording)..all of the instruments are leveled off for the most part, along with Maynard being quite audible. We get a very special treat tonight..a cover of Peachs' "You Lied"..good stuff. I really like how the band is playing during this show..somewhat loose, but tight at the same time,especially Danny Carey.  I could go on with specifics regarding the performance..but what can I say that hasnt been said a million times before..? Obviously it was a good show, a good performance, a better than normal setlist and we all have a good recording to now enjoy it by. A "good job" goes out to the taper.
