Notes - Taper:
This venue has extremely tight security, with cops patting down everyone. It took five people to get my rig in. Unfortunately Jambi is cut from my recording. We got the rig up just as Stinkfist started, however my levels on preamp were hot. I corrected my levels by Forty-Six & Two, with some fluxations. Please enjoy, for this was a difficult venue. Thanks to my friends who helped smuggle in the equipment. This recording is not to be sold, EVER.
Notes - Galen:
If this recording was not missing Jambi & did not have clipping on Stinkfist it may very well be a contender for one of the best sounding sources from this leg of the tour. Unfortunately, it does have the aforementioned issues that detract from the overall product. It is what it is. The audio is near-pristine (once the taper got his shit straight; the vocals are warm, the guitar is hot, the bass is cool & Danny's drumming is spot-on. A pleasant listen. Definitely not only for collectors but for even the casual fan as well. All in all, could be better (if it was complete) but it is what it is. On a positive note, the special effects used on Rosetta Stoned are *super* clear on this recording; a detail that many recordings lack.

Notes - Taper:
Well I almost died making it to this show, but in the end it was worth the long, dangerous drive. (A word of advice, there is a drink called "Redline" being sold today. It's not an energy drink, like I thought. It's a dietary supplement that raises your heartrate and causes you to simultaneously sweat and shiver. I made the mistake of having one before getting on the road, and felt sick for the next 12 hours. That was the drive up to Southaven, the entire show, and about half of my drive back afterwards.) Anyway, a big thanks to Geordy for my seat upgrade at this show. The tape wouldn't have come out as well if not for the prime location. This was also one of the last shows to feature AEnema in the set.
Notes - Galen:
Hot damn this is one smoking tape! For those that are accustomed to the low vocals, particularly as on Rosetta Stoned, this source proves that location, location, luck & a little more luck can make a lot of difference. Although I'm not entirely sure if uber-live-but-yet-front-of-stack-sounding is a real phrase or even quasi-correct grammar but it is what it is. The nuances of the performance, calculated & repeated or not, are picked up very nicely. Almost surprisingly well. Now, I detect & it may be my old age and/or some other issue but when there is a sound out of the PA louder then others (and I mean massively louder) sometimes the audio almost seems to only have so much leeway. I don't know, maybe I'm just being a snobby DAT taper that is surprised about how damn good some of these recordings really are. Nice one.

Notes:
There is a good deal of crowd noise surrounding this recording. Although you can tell this was taped at at least some distance form the speakers its not so bad that it sounds like it was taped in, say, a manager's office or anything (for lipping off to security - not this taper, but another source). Solid recording that is an accurate if not rather ambient recording of Tool going through the motions, err, putting on a one-of-a-kind performance for the masses this evening. One of the better sources for this performance if you like a little bit of ambient/crowd noise that is not actually obtrusive but is noticeable. This permeates the recording throughout.
