There are 3 10-15 second gaps in the closers due to bad sectors on the drive I was writing to. Enjoy! Greetz: dvn, crimmy, muffy, nagga, gun, bunny, jennie-jen, star and all the folks who help me get to the shows, I lurve ya guys! (NOTE: Taper gave the setlist the following names on the .txt file; I found this rather amusing:

Notes - by: Galen: The levels are not "hot" on this recording as so much they are burning. If you put a track into an audio program you will see that the levels are pretty-much in a constant state of being brickwalled. By brickwall, I refer to the SPL's being so loud that the mics or the recorder are overloaded; my money is on the iRiver. Some people may feel that this recording is basically distorted. There may be some truth in that however it is not the type of distortion that renders a recording completely un-listenable but a pervasive layer of noise (for lack of a better term). As you can tell by listening to the MP3, the vocals are very low & there is a lot of guitar + drum. Not exactly sure what to say other than I am going to go out on a limb & label this recording as for collector's only. I mean no disrespect but I must pose the question: Why spend the approximate cost of $1000 (give or take) for HEB from Core Sound only to use a recorder that is not going to deliver you what you want; a great recording to match the nice microphones?

Maynardism: "Thank you very much for letting us borrow your city. Bagles on the square; those who know - know. Those who don't sorry. Pull it together people, it's your town. Cinnamon raisin bagel on the square. Shh. Had enough? That was... that was lame. Had enough?"

Not the ideal spot to tape with omni mics. Cardioids would have been a better choice. Maynard's vocals just didn't carry very well up to the upper levels of the theater, despite the speakers they had hung up in front of us. Still, the results are pretty decent. The fans around me were definitely into the show, but for the most part weren't too vocal, which is how I like it. Overall this is a good recording. The highlight of the show for me was hearing Right in Two... somewhat of a rarity it seems. Enjoy!

Notes - by: Galen: The vocals are quite obscured throughout the performance, much like the majority of gigs from this warm-up tour were. Adam's guitar seems to be rather crisp as is Danny's amazing drumming ability, however, the bass (although cleaned up in EQ) is still simply lacking - this is from the venue, speaker-stuff not the taping equipment. You know, listening to this performance retrospectively, it appears to be a bit sloppy in certain parts - particularly during Rosetta Stoned, Schism & Vicarious. I don't know, either the timing is off on certain points and/or I like to make stuff up. It is my belief that this particular source could not really do much to improve what seems like a lackluster performance. Definitely not ideal taping conditions and, yes, Cardioid microphones (like Schoeps) were the better bet for these warm-up shows. That said, this source is the better of the few sources to be released in any capacity. And for that reason, this is recommended for those that want to hear a good sounding recording of a struggling warm-up show. Hope this is clear but with the correct amount of harshness.

Huh well I wish I knew more about the illustrious origins of this particular video, but I do not. The video starts partway through Sober & is complete for the remaining of the performance. It makes me wonder if, in fact, the rest of 05/19/2006 is out there, somewhere, but the video quality or some-other-reason made the filmer think it would be best to only release the ‘good’ part(s) of the video. I really have no idea. However, this is one of the few videos from the US mini-tour available & for some reason it has stayed rather low in the trading scene. Again, I am unsure why. The audio is decent, the video is a bit shaky & is incomplete. Hard to say, but, this really seems best left for hardcore collector’s only.
Notes: On same DVD as 05/20/2006, also incomplete.
