Notes: This massively incomplete recording sounds a lot like a Cardioid microphone was used, not an omni. Crisp and clear vocals but little low end with lots of higher frequency as is common with such microphones. However, I am going to take this one step further: I propose that this is actually an incomplete ALD (Assisted Listening Device) recording. Perhaps all of the show was recorded and the taper released just this or maybe this is it. The massive cuts between tracks and lack of information may not be a tell-all, however, the vocals are really clean as is the guitar, bass and drum. All sounds are at the same level such as how in-house ALD systems tend to sound. Oftentimes, the shortwave FM broadcast is from the side of the stage which the venue by default offers mixed with a microphone for crowd noise. That said, there are some ‘whoops’ and ‘ahhhhs’ in the recording so…. So, you can be the judge or maybe sometime in the future we will have an answer to this inquiry but as I write this it is 2024.
