Notes - Taper:
This is a good one. Probably my best large venue recording. The people in our section were so quiet for an American crowd - a real rarity for an arena Tool show. And my location was in front of the left stack 12 rows up, almost parallel to the stage. These two factors combined made for a good quality recording. It was a smaller sized arena (capacity = approx. 5,000 - 6,000), so it has a bit more of an intimate feel. The first half of Jambi is a little shaky: two level changes and some phasing while I was adjusting the rig and moving around to get the best spot. Once the solo kicks in, it's smooth sailing to show's end. Best when listening through a good pair of headphones. Enjoy.

Notes - Galen:
First, this is a fine AUD recording. The vocals, like virtually all sources taped with omni mics at least some distance from MJK's monitor, are somewhat buried in the mix. But what else is new at this leg of the tour? Guitar, bass, synth, drums & other noises are captured quite nicely though. The sound, overall, is rather ambient & if you do close your eyes you can almost feel like you are there. Almost. Secondly, to me, this particular performance felt to be a bit, um, generic. Kind of like choosing the no-name brand of Cinnamon Toast Crunch versus the real thing. That said, this is my impression of the performance as it seems, to me, almost interchangeable with the Cincinnati, OH show 13 days later (that I was at). All in all; enjoyable recording of a good performance.

Notes - Galen II:
There is an Interesting Engineering Marvel that tends to travel with this source which, purportedly, is a mix of pure HD FM and this mix. I do not hear any of this AUD recording in that other recording, so, just a heads up.
