Notes - by Galen:
There appears to be a good amount of recordings of this show available. Upon reading reviews of other collectors, it boggles my mind how people do not feel that this is the best audio recording of this performance. Clean, clear, in-your-face & a treat to listen to. These microphones are not that easy to sneak in & tape with. IMO, the taper pulled this off & did so with flying colors. Good job to Toaster. Don't believe me? Listen to the crack of thunder that permeates throughout 10K Days. Beautiful audience recording. Of particular interest is the little Happy Birthday to "Carol". Interesting.

Maynardism:
"When we said 'look out here we come', I didn't mean like: 'big rock band here to kick some big rock ass'; I meant like 'our dollar isn't doing well & you have lots of oil so... you might want to buy our country before it's too late”

.Notes - by Galen: Holy shit there is a lot of screaming by random girl's during the intro & throughout, pervasively, Stinkfist + the recording. There is nothing the taper could do about this, however, it is definitely worth noting. That said, it appears that this is the greatest complete that I, at least, can muster regarding this show. Good job to the taper as the vocals are clear, the guitar is balanced & the overall feel is that of a quality, live audience recording. Some feel that this source is the best quality source for this particular performance however this is up to some stiff competition. The day these tickets went on sale, I attempted to get a pair in the amphitheatre & could not pull up any on ticketmaster; in fact, this entire show sold out in under 1 hour. This was on a Saturday night in a great city so that should not be completely surprising.

Sold out toronto crowd! and maynard made fun of the states again...perfect !!! :P have fun with this or something.... cheers! taped by knobcat
Notes - by Galen: The recording clarity of this recording is quite impressive for the recorder used. The pick-up of the intro to Vicarious is almost breathtaking actually; I mean, if you look for kind of unique intros to Vicarious (listen for the bird calls). Come on, it's the cool thing to look for; seriously, it is. Low crowd noise throughout with a clean recording that will rival other quality captures of this performance makes this source a definitive selection for your collection. At least for this show. And, imagine that, all on one compressed mini disc? Wow.

To be clear, this was a Sony cassette recorder which was manufactured up to 2003 and was one of the last cassette recorders made/sold by Sony. Thus, this is an internal recording with built in microphones. You add a square box to a small input at said top of box in a corner (above where a cassette tape moves) and the results are actually considerably better than one would arbitrarily think. Jumping back to Tool recordings circa 1992-1996, this one would have stuck out as being a great capture. As time moves on, so do our perceptions. It would be really easy for me to just label this as collectors only (which it is) but there is a total beauty of some taper sneaking in this bulky unit, maybe an extra cassette and then somewhat monitoring it the rest of the show. I give kudos. I give thanks.
