2024 Notes: This source is mildly brickwalled by low end although it is worse at Jambi and does improve a little bit after ‘the incident’ it is still rather annoying that this source came out as such. The thing is, the taper put the input into the microphone in and had the levels too high which in turn led to low end issues. It is what it is and even with a retransfer and EQ in 2024 this source may be best left for collectors.

Notes:
Let's see; I am sure that there are some fantastic recordings out there - this one is not one of them. A little background; I had a pleasant little 8+ hour drive from where I live to Kingston, Ontario & arrived in Kingston maybe about 4PM. Long day so far. My buddy RJB drove from Rochester, NY to meet up for this & the Toronto show. Before the show, we did a few shots, a couple beers, had some food & were kind of 'toasted' when we made it to the venue. Get my stuff in & we go to the floor, show starts. This dude next to us blazes one up - by one I mean a marijuana cigarette. My buddy takes a couple tokes, gives it back to the guy, guy gives it back to my friend, he hits it and *boom* security grabs him, the dude and his girlfriend quickly whisking them away. So, I'm standing there; confused. Dazed. I wait about 30 seconds (note: Jambi has gone into verse 1 at this point) & I run after RJB. He's standing there surrounded by 3 cops and 4 security. They rip his ticket off & the cops threaten to take his ass to jail. This was the first time he's smoked weed in about a year, mind you --- if not longer. I say something to security & take a pic of him getting kicked out of the show. Then, out of nowhere, my  phone gets bumped by security & fucking breaks. So I go back to the show & at this point Jambi ends. I can use my phone for maybe ~20 minutes before the screen is just too cracked to see.  I text RJB several times (I come to find out he had his phone off to avoid INTL charges). So I just stand there the rest of the show. Saw maybe 15 people get kicked out for smoking pot - this, to me, is just bizarre. Ugh. Manage to nab a set from Knobby. I walk back to the hotel & RJB is asleep; I wake his ass up. He then informs me that the 2 posters he bought, well, when he was getting busted they fell out of his pocket. That was $50 gone. So, I'm like, 'fuck' & book it back to the venue, run in the door & get to the merch where they have 1 more poster left; autographed for $100. So I bought it - glad I did, looks cool. Oh and if you look at the Kingston show poster, there is a misprint on it where TOOL is, middle. Apparently, there was some form of misprint so the non-signed posters, many of them, were pulled. Okokokok back to this source; due to me being mildly lets say intoxicated (note: we walked to the venue) & the 'what the fuck?' situation with my buddy I neglected to check my levels. Ah well. You win some, you lose some...

i knew it was gonna be an ass kickin'when i sat in my seat. tools side stack is almost as big as the main stacks facing the floor :S as my cousin said 'that was intense'. haha what an under statement. Good thing we both had ear plugs cause that is not meant to be at that range for ears!!! i was tempted to hold onto this but i guess its my hope more people with high quality recordings will come forth. On another side of things your all my witness that galen and i made a deal to make sure we meet up next time and no broken phones or bad timing!!! ;P thats another story though! *hezlo made me that fine poster being i totally forgot about the limited edition poster in kingston. security was a bit heavy at this place and i basically went to my seat and forgot about the poster until i left the venue and i figured i couldnt get back in so i just didnt bother. if u got an extra let me know :)

Notes / Galen:
This is a wonderful recording to listen to! The clarity, alone, is worth the effort to download or acquire this source as although MJK holds back a bit throughout the performance, it is still a Tool show. If you have the belief that even a standard Tool show is better than 99% of the rest of the bands you could go & see then this recording (or arguably most any 2009 recording) is for you. Taper did a good job & pulled a very nice recording.

Soundscapes and other Maynardism are found at the end of tracks, rather than split separately. Drove up to Canada for this one. Overall, a good show. Taped from FOS-right on the floor. Great sounds in GA, but unfortunately close to other "Tool fans", who were largely drunk and obnoxious. I also taped a second source this night, OKM-IIr > bbox > LS-10 @ 24/48
Notes / Galen:
Huh this is a very solid audience recording. The levels are clean, balanced, bass is not too deep, highs are crisp enough & MJK manages to not become entirely buried in the mix. Yes, there are the 'hoot + hollers' of the Tool 'elite' screaming at the worst of times but this is to be counted on - remember, you are listening to a Tool show. This source, perhaps, is the best AUD pull from this night as it is just a pleasure to kick back to a fatty & imagine yourself getting thrown out for engaging in medicine. Not me, I mean - a friend. Kudos to the taper, nice one. Also, this is one of two sources he pulled - not bad.

My second source of the night. A thousand thanks go to Andy/junkyardt for sending me his rig to try out for this show; not many tapers would trust another enough to do so and his willingness made this source possible! During the extended Lateralus intro, Maynard sat at Ashton's drumset and proceeded to "eat" the snare drum with a pair of drumsticks.

Notes / Galen:
Not a bad recording, certainly, but not a thing of legend - at least this AUD is not suffering from high levels & a 'friend-kick-out' interruption or anything. Levels are consistent, same crowd as source C obviously but otherwise a relatively clean recording even though it seems the microphones seem to have a preference for the right channel (as per microphone setting + location of taper, presumably). Good recording - pretty snazzy, really. All that much more impressive knowing that the taper pulled 2 sources; not bad. Watch out ladies, this taper has ballz. As was pointed out by the owner of this equipment, Junkyardt, another source is better than no source at all. I have to agree.

Notes: Unsure where this taper recorded this show from but it must have been from a decent distance from the PA’s. This recording is saved by the grace of Cardioid microphones as this venue was boomy and not the greatest for a show as it is generally a hockey arena. Recording does not stand out as exceptional to my ears but it is worlds better than what I pulled this evening. Overall, a very live recording which sounds better than it should be. Great job to the taper.
