Taper: DP
Gen: 1st from Master
Notes: Recorded on the balcony, this is a very nice audience recording. Although it may not be considered -technically- superior, it is a good listen, all around. The setlist is not all that varied but the performance just seemed to be...well...good. Rock-solid & heavy, this is one of my personal favorites from this leg of the tour. The audience is a little louder than is usually desired, complete with some 'yeahhhhh' & 'whoooo-ing'. However, I find this to be one of the most honest captures of Tool live from this era. Yes, there are imperfections do to circumstances but the performance makes up for that. The recording itself is nicely balanced, crisp & sharp. Something many MD recordings lack, some DAT for that matter. Also, I must say, the audience yelling + screaming is usually annoying as hell but seems to fit this one well. Basically because it is a mass of people yelling rather than just one or two, in the recording, it sounds quite nice
