Notes - Taper:
If burning to disc a split after track 6 may do the trick. There is about 20 seconds missing from the intro to Schism. I had forgotten I had a 1gb card in my recorder (which yields 1 hour of recording time at 24-bits) instead of my 2gb card. I realized this just as the first song started. I had to find a break somewhere so I could change cards. I chose that time to do it. You don't really miss much, but there is something missing. I was in a good spot - nobody in front of me and close to the stage right speaker stack. You do hear the guy behind me a little bit as well as the guy next to me 2 or three times (all brief). Could have been (and has been!) much worse. This is my 3rd recording of Tool in the last 12 months and I think it is the best sounding of the three. Enjoy!
Notes - Galen:
Ah if only every single recording sounds like this particular source then the world would be a better place full of love, incense, fat free cookies & no sweaty L. Ron Hubbard upper-lips. Perhaps not but the fact that most recordings are not this clean, clear & otherwise delightful to enjoy allows us to see this source as something high above other sources. MJK's vocals are mixed nicely this performance as are the other instruments throughout. Listening to this I wonder why, why oh why does Tool dislike tapers to the Nth degree? This particular taper has taped this band since 1996 - I think that says something positive about the fan base (of tapers). Pop this on, grab some popcorn, K-Y or porn & listen to this stellar capture of a polished + professional performance.
