Source A: Video --- Sony Cybershot P73S
Taper: endless_soul
Gen: 2
Notes: At first I thought this video was going to be complete shit based on the source information. I also have the same type of camera as listed above however my movies are mediocre at best. Surprisingly, the little camera did a decent-enough job to capture the audio as well as the video. The taper, make note a rarity in the Tool-taping world, a female taper, did a good job with what she had to work with. From what I heard this was either her first recording or one of the first. Good job, if the taper keeps this up, upgrades equipment & practices more than Italy will be blessed not just with another molester... err... I mean Pope but more importantly a good filmer. The band appears to be having a decent night however the bass tends to drown out the other frequencies of this source. Filmed from the right-side-back, there are no real focusing in on the band due to the limitations of the camera. All in all, decent. There are a few issues with this source. Apparently when it was first put to DVD it had issues (I do not recall what they were) so someone took the files & put them as mpegs (which works just as well). Take note, between songs are cut.
Maynardism: "Ok, I'd like you to all to turn to your neighbor and explain to them the effects of camera flashes and strobe lighting on epileptics... so take all of your pictures with flash right now... go on take them and then turn off the flash because otherwise I'm going to pass out... if you don't then I'm just going to turn my back for the entire night"

Notes: For some reason or another, I really enjoy this recording. I will say, to my ears, when the bass hits the microphones sort of reach their limit and the result is somewhat muddy. But that is not a constant. This was taped at some amount of distance from the speakers as this is clearly not a front of stack recording. Crowd is noticeable and pervasive but not obtrusive. This source is the only verified audience recording to come to light after more than 18 years.
