On stage drop-outs Schism (1:45 - 1:47) , Ænema (6:19 - 6:32)
This is one of 2 sources i captured that night let me know if there is any interest in this one in it's original 24 bit 96kHz form as a audio DVD. Special thanks to Tommy (King Reptile) for the assist on the tickets.
Notes - by: Galen:
The taper put out on torrent an uncompressed 24/96 kHz original format as well. I do not detect a difference. However, you may see that version of this source as an audio DVD.
Notes - by: Galen:
Excellent recording with little crowd noise, clear sound & ample re-listening potentiality. Hard to actually find many, if any, real faults or complaints with this recording; one of the best from the mini-tour. I do not say this lightly - very nice. There is little reason for me to expand upon this source; sorry. For ample evidence of the quality, I encourage you to toss on some headphones, close your eyes, open your mind & listen to any song on this source. Performance-wise, Tool was in full swagger this evening. The beginning of Stinkfist with Danny's tabla-drumming, the sample @ the beginning & MJK's scream of "what" during the middle - amazing.

"Thank you very much for coming down tonight for this warm-up show. It's been a while since we played so we're just trying to blow the dust off & get the feel of it all. I heard a rumor that all the tickets you bought tonight were doesd with LSD so those of you that thought to lick your ticket - we hope you've enjoyed your evening. There will be some extraterrestials  outside the door to help guide you out to your car on the way out."

Notes - by: Taper: This is the 2nd of 2 sources I captured that night.
Notes - by: Galen: I kind of think either the taper of this performance was extremely, extremely lucky or he knows exactly what he does in a high-stealth situation. I would tend to believe the latter. Not only is this particular source of extremely high quality as it captures the delicate nuances of Tool but this is the second of two recordings that are both of amazing caliber. Although the slight drop-out at the culmination of Ænema is a slight detraction, this is nothing to be concerned about. Highly, highly recommended. Tool is dead-on at this performance, more so than at other gigs during this era. This recording accurately captures my perception... however, do not take my word for it  - check it out for yourself.

Notes - by: Galen:
First, if you want to listen to this recording on CD, you will have to resample it to 44.1 kHz as the taper did not do that for you. All in all, a very nice recording with more crowd noise than sources A & B. Not sure where the taper stood however I imagine it is at least some distance away. This has a very live feel to it; not as "in your face" as it could be. The vocals are clean, guitar is powerful but the bass cuts very deep. If I were to list the most impressive thing about this recording; I would have to go with the passion of the crowd in regards to MJK's vocals. You can tell that the audience was mad for Tool this night & the screams, talking, clapping & cheering that sometimes stand in the way of recordings add a bit of ambience. Very nice. The only issue is that the recording abruptly stops during Ænema which renders this an incomplete recording.
