2001.10.25 - San Antonio, TX, USA @ Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre
Source A: DAT --- Core Sound Cardioids > Sony TCD-D7
Notes: Real, real nice clean sound. The taper was most likely relatively far away from the speakers but still managed to get a nice recording out of his location. The crowd is noisy but, fortunately, is covered up by the volume of the speakers. This source is miles, miles, miles away in positive quality in comparison to the unknown MD source. There seem to be -way- more MP3 & unknown MD source versions of this recording floating around rather than this good sounding recording, for those that care. Tool performed well this night....like most nights & gave the audience a show they will most likely remember fondly.

Source B: Unknown Mini Disc Recording
Notes: The recording is slightly distorted by way of high & low end. The mics simply cannot handle the amps that pump out of Tool's speakers. The sound also clips and has this real weird micro-skips throughout the recording whenever the taper moves, most likely. This is left for extreme collector's only. I don't say this much but I really don't think anyone else would even justify wasting their time with this...other than me, I suppose. No, there are quite a few people that have this recording and part of it is due to the fact that this has actually been confused with the DAT source.

Source C: Mini Disc --- MDR-QR33 > Sony MZR-55
Taper: Adam
Gen: 1st from Master
Notes: Slightly distant and not exceedingly clean, this sounds just a little bit muddy in sound. Like all the wavelengths are hitting at the same frequency. Maybe it has something to do with the position & the fact that the microphones are actually headphones. Although, MJK's voice is surprisingly clear the overall product is definitely listenable and not that bad. There are a few instances of exceedingly loud crowd noise which sort of grates on your ears. But that is to be expected. For the source information, however, this is quite an amazing capture really.
Maynardism: "That's all there really is, isn't it? This moment. Everything else is just a memory. Like the more you dumb-asses with the cameras are spending all that time fumbling with your cameras you are missing the rest of the moment that the rest of us are sharing. And when you lose your photos, you have no memory of this moment."
