2001.10.12 - Atlanta, GA, USA @ Phillips Arena
Source: Sound Professionals Slimline Cardioids > Sony PCM-M1 (Oade Bros Mod II)
Taper: Unknown
Notes: Decent sound. On many copies, there is a little bit of digital static & micro-skips throughout the recording. It sounds like the taper was in the pit or was moving so as to bump the MD recorder. They do that, one of the problems with MD's. Other than that, not bad. Also on many copies, this show is TAO instead of DAO. As such, those discs with TAO are probably best left for the garbage. Fact is, until very recently, all copies were TAO but now a clean version has surfaced. Overall, the performance is pretty much as any other Tool show from this era but the band seems to have a little bit more energy this night or something. Sounds to me like maybe the taper was in the sweet spot. One of the better cardioids > DAT recordings out there from 2001. There seem to be at least 2 known rips but there may very well be more out there. Be aware of the version you attain and trade, this has been very confused over time. People have mislabeled this as SPSC>MT77 as well, which it is of course not.
Maynardism: "Thank you very much for coming. We'd like to dedicate this next song to our former wet nurse & my current fiancé Pete Beetle. It's called Ænema."
