Notes - Taper:
I managed to get a front row ticket through Ticketmaster right when tickets went onsale. This made for a great spot to watch the show, but not the best spot for taping. I had to start taping in the bathroom and tape all the way through until I left the venue, and was unable to check levels. Since it was still assigned seating, the crowd wasn't thick enough to "hide" in for checking levels. The other downside to taping from directly in front of the band was the lack of vocals in that spot. The other instruments are coming in very clearly, and most of that sound seemed to be coming directly from the amps onstage, but Maynard's vocals were only pumped through the large PAs hung way above and to my sides. It makes for an interesting recording to say the least. One last thing to note. After Vicarious I put my head down for a second to rest my neck, and I heard something hit the ground in front of me and suddenly felt a bunch of people pressing in from behind and around me. I opened my eyes to see Danny's drumstick laying there right in front of me. I thought they had one song left to play, but they decided to drop AEnema from the set, and because I wasn't paying attention, missed out on catching a drumstick. Ah well... But you can hear the stick hit the ground on tape. Enjoy!

Notes - Galen:
The best thing for me to say is basically a reiteration of what Adam says above... the vocals are almost non existent. If anything MJK's vocals are more of a distant melody rather than something that is clear or hell even audible in the mix. Very, very hard to hear. Now, for some collectors this recording may be just want they wanted to hear as, really, this is as close to an "instrumental" recording that will probably surface due to the rather unique taping spot. Remember, location is always important. Well, this one worked out in one significant way... the instrumental mix (i.e.: sans Mr. Keenan) is rather interesting. And dare I say it virtually perfectly balanced. The guitars; you can hear pick scrapes + bass scrapes. Few recordings have I heard such overall clean instrumentation. And for that, this is kind of a one-of-a-kind type of recording. Of course, this is just my opinion so you should trade with the taper & here it for yourself.
