Source A: Mini Disc --- Sony ECM-909 > Sony MZ-R70
Taper: Brett R.
Notes: I'll make no qualms about this part of the tour; not all that awesome. Maynard's voice isn't doing all that well & the band seems to be going through the motions rather than really expanding anything. Or really trying. Maybe, a little boring? As for this recording, it is slightly muffled, distant & not all that exceptional. Damn Sony mics. Taper must've been relatively far away from the speakers as well; this sounds very much like a hall-e recording. There is also some microphone fidgeting. If that makes sense. However, this is not the MP3 version floating around. This is incomplete but relatively rare. All things considered, this is on the borderline of for collector's only. This is worth a listen, for sure, but this is also at best a common-sounding ECM>MD recording.

Source B: Unknown Mini Disc Recording > Unconfirmed but Common Info: Mini Disc --- Danish Pro Audio 4062 > Sharp MT-77 / DVN
Notes: Well, it is unclear what source info this is. This is complete & does not sound like either of the video sources; both of which have little cuts & one has the end of Lateralus missing. This does not sound at all like the ECM>MD source either. There is a slight possibility that this could be DVN's source but most likely is not as he does not exactly throw his recordings around, from what I have heard. Not that he needs to, he can do with them as he sees fit. However, this source is reportedly DPA>MT77. But again, this is not confirmed. So, no matter what, at least a new + complete source managed to surface - even though we do not know what it is exactly. There is a bit of an echo as this was definitely taped from somewhere in the stands, not a front-of-stack recording at all. Decent enough recording though. Not stellar, not amazing but maybe a little bit above average in sound quality. If anyone has more information, please let me know.

Source D: Mini Disc --- "Old School Radioshack mic" (tie-clip lavalier / omni) > Sony MZ-NF810
Transfer: Master > Optical > KOSS standalone burner > CD > EAC > FLAC
Taper: Shawn Q.
Gen: 2nd from Master
Notes: For the equipment used, this recording should sound about 10x worse than it does. The recording has tons of echoes, sound is not differentiated all that much & it sounds rather muddy. However, this is not distorted & is relatively clear, which is surprising. Taper seemed to be a good deal of distance away from the stacks as there is quite a bit of ambient crowd noise (talking, yelling) that perforates the sound often. Honestly, I have little to add to this rather blase recording. The setlist is ho-hum in this leg with little, if any, real variety & this is a recording that is actually kind of complimentary - if you think about it.

Source C: Hi8 --- Sony CCD-TRV940 w/Sound Professional mics
Source C: Master > DVD
Taper: Rawson
Notes: The audio is brickwalled/distorted throughout the recording on some VHS>DVD transfers, not so bad on the Master>DVD. Still, out of the taper's recordings from this era, this may not be the prized jewel as far as audio goes. Out of this taper's recordings from this leg of the tour, this may be considered one of the least pleasant to watch. Am not trying to be harsh, this is just my opinion. It may be due to the DVD I have, don't know. Camera is & can be steady at times, there is some movement, the sound is a little bit brick-walled & is slightly grainy. Looking for upgrade. Beware that there are various rips of this source or generation(s) on CD. Numerous. Some are ok, some are not. All in all, although the video is quite pleasant, this may be best left for collector's. Depends on how you look at it. Personally, I find a good deal of enjoyment throughout this video. Beware of various VHS>DVD rips floating around.
