Source A: DAT--- Schoeps MK4s > Nbox > SBM-1 > PCM-M1
Dissemination: PCM-R300 > USBPre > Soundforge 7.0b > shntool 2.0.3 > flac 1.1.2 > Torrent
Taper: Coluzzi
Gen: 0 from Master
Notes: Come on now everyone tends to go gaga over a Schoeps recording. Well, this recording gives good evidence in regards to the overall quality that is possible from such a taping rig. The guitar, bass & drum seem to be in unison as you close your eyes, imagining you are hearing it live. The vocals are, like many shows from this leg, distant in nature & are semi-obscured (by clouds). Although I do enjoy this recording it really does not give me a rush of blood to the head so to speak. It is definitely far above average for recordings from this time period & the fact that the taper disseminated this to the masses is definitely a very positive thing. As of 08/2007 this is the only source to be floating around, although, there are more sources known to be in existence. This could, possibly, be a highly recommended recording as you will hear few AUD recordings of Rosetta Stoned that can compare.
Notes: Along with this particular release, the taper included the 09/05/1991 SBD recording after Ænema. I have no idea why anyone would do that, but, there you go.
Maynardism: "Whats going on out there? I'll tell you whats goin on. All the people in the seats are having fun. You guys down here like rubbin up on other guys? Its just some fuckin rock songs."

Source B: Mini Disc --- Mics -> Bass rolloff -> Sony MZ-N10
Dissemination: Line In-> Audacity->MACFLAC->Torrent
Taper: Emerica
Gen: Torrent
Notes: Not bad. Not great, either. Also, it appears that the transfer involved line-out from the headphone jack off of the MD into the input on a computer; that is not a digital transfer. It's a Mini Disc recording with unspecified, undocumented microphones. What can you say? Decent enough sound, it would be interesting to know what microphones they are. Could be something from the Sony ECM series or maybe even a CSB, perhaps. Recorded at at least some distance from the speakers this source is somewhat muddy at times, there is some amount of phasing and the person next to the taper really likes to make comments. I did not hear a tape flip which makes me wonder if this was recorded long playing (LP2) mode. That said, it is pretty good for what it is. I’m throwing down collectors only for this.
