2007.08.09 - Oslo, Norway @ Oya Festival
Source: Solid State - Schoeps MK4 > Nbox > Edirol R-09 > 24/48
Location: Front of Stack - Left
Gen: 0 from Master
Taper: Per
Notes: Perhaps one of the most interesting things about this performance is the warm-up of feedback via Adam's guitar, the deep bass from Justin & the *rather* strange scream from MJK "ahhhhhhhhh" right at the beginning. You think for a minute they are going to bust into something else but then the realization that it will be Jambi, again, as the opener. Still, a predictable Tool show is still better than 99.9% of every other band out there making noise - I mean music. The vocals seem to be a tad distant throughout but those tapers' in the USA will recognize this issue as just part of the norm. You can tell it is an open-air venue due to the sometimes swirling sound. The taper seemed to be moving/microphone phasing a little bit at the beginning as well. Definitely a solid recording - this is one of those recordings where you can hear *clearly* how much distortion that was (occasionally) used on Rosetta Stoned. In fact, this is the most clear I, for one, have heard the deep vocals. Nicely done!
