2001.07.21 - Christchurch, New Zealand @ Westpac Trust Center
Source: Dictaphone Mini-Cassette Recorder w/Built-In Microphone (with noise reduction)
Notes: Not a very good sounding recording. Has a swirling sound in the background. I once used a Sony Dictaphone to record a Ben Harper show when I was in high school & hit Ozzfest in 1997, saw Tool. It came out pretty much like this - shit. But, you get what you pay for, eh? Has a bunch of crowd noise & people talking & making insightful comments. Right before the Grudge, the taper decides to say what time it is... 10 to 9:00pm. Thank you. This is definitely best left for die-hard collectors. Or whatever that means. All in all, it is not fun to listen to at all - the swirling sound will drive you mad. This certainly is a very challenging recording to make your way through, good luck. This raises the question: is it better to have something that sounds like shit or nothing at all? The answer may be in the eye of the beholder. To make this even better, AEnima is cut & Lateralus is missing completely.
Maynardism: "Thank you very, very much. You are as enthusiastic as we remember & very hospitable. We'd like to thank some of your local people for being very nice to us yesterday; we hung out at the bar called RPM. Thank you very much for your time, your free drinks & your blowjobs. This song is all about that. It goes to Tarrina, wherever the hell you are."
