Source A: Mini Disc --- Sony ECM-S5 > Sony MZ-R700
Taper: 2L
Gen: 1st from Master
Notes: There has been wide confusion as to sources with this show. It could be that disc #1 & disc #1 of the 2 known recordings of this are almost identical as far as time. Oddly enough or not odd at all, both sources were mastered to CD by Rajan. That could explain it. For a mini Disc recording, this source is excellent. Sure, the limitations as far as sound quality are evident but there are many DAT recordings that do not sound this good. And to think, this is from using rather inexpensive Sony ECM mics. Interesting stuff. Tight performance by Tool this evening. Absolutely flawless &, dare I say it, haunting rendition of Flood>Grudge with not even a second for a breather. What a way to start a Tool performance. Recommended recording.

Source B: Mini Disc --- ECM-MS907 > Sony MZ R-700
Taper: Phil M.
Gen: 1st from Master
Notes:
It should be noted that this recording has been widely, for various reasons, confused with Source A, Sony ECM-S5 > Sony MZ-R700 recording by 2L. Many people either have this source listed but, upon further investigation, find out that this is actually simply a version of Source A with different track times as it was put to MP3 from various sites and file sharing programs (2L that is). AS such, this is sort of hard to come by. There is not a real reason due to simple error & people not really keeping accurate source info. As it is, this recording is actually a bit cleaner and, IMO, a bit steadier overall than Source A. Perhaps a bit of information by the taper is warranted at this point...
Taper's Notes:
One thing that you might be interested to hear is that 2L and Rajan arrived late to the Sydney concert. They missed part of Flood, perhaps part of the Grudge as well. Craig (2L) asked if he could get a copy of my bootleg for the purpose of using it to complete theirs. I supplied them with it. Now -- what they did with it and whether they actually used it at all in theirs is not known to me. But this is what happened, and if you ever compare their recording to mine make sure you listen to different tracks, not Flood or The grudge, as there is a very good chance that they are the same. heh.

Source C: Unverified Mini-DV Recording Equipment
Source C: Refuse Videos / AK
Source C: Master > VHS NTSC > DVD
Gen: 1st from Master
Notes: For the source information and recording position, this is actually a very clear recording with very minimal PAL>VHS>DVD interference. The taper was very far away. The video is ok but incomplete due to numerous security-ducks & random movements, a certain sense of vertigo may affect your ability to not fall off your chair from being disoriented. However, there are some excellent focusing & skill involved with this video. There are times when refuse hides the camera (from security) as the screen goes dark & the sound gets muffled but that is only temporarily. It must not be easy to really film Tool. Taking a guess. Maynard is painted blue at this show & Oesseus Labyrinth are just hanging around as well. Although the collector may find great joy in watching this show, it is debatable as to what other people would or may want to do. That said, this is potentially best left for collector's. Personally, I enjoy this video quite a bit. There are not many videos from this leg so all offer a truly unique image of Tool.
Maynardism: "It's come to our attention, that we have the need to remind you where you are, in case you were, uh, decided to over do it with the Grateful Dead acid you've had hiding in your freezer... you are at a Tool show"
