Notes:
Exceptionally good recording, sound-wise. Performance wise, it is decent (as a whole) but Adam seems to have had better nights. A slight mess up on Reflection is acceptable but he completely lost it during the last part of Undertow...or was it a glitch with the equipment? You know when Maynard screams 'yeah' at the end of the song & the guitar is just rocking out, bass hits & the drums totally rail? Picture that without any sort of guitar coming out. Maybe Adam fucked up, maybe the guitar, a patch-cord, speaker or monitor died. I don't know. It is very, very interesting though...in my humble opinion. The end scream on 'Undertow' where Maynard just cuts loose is one to not be forgotten as it minus guitar...awesome. Never heard anything like it, really. Also, this show is quite rare, for some reason. But, I bet all that will be changing very, very shortly once it makes it's rounds. Please note: Disc #1 has fine track transitions but disc #2 has mini-gaps...mastering issue, not MP3. Weird.
Notes - from Paul Elsen, 2002:
"Hey Galen, just wanted to clear things up about the 11/3/01 Adam-guitar issue. See, I went to that show and while he was playing the guitar on undertow, he kept looking at it funny like something was wrong. Then, at the end of the song with the little solo it totally died  on him& he kept playing it for a second with no sound coming out. Then he walked to the side of the stage where a guy handed him a new guitar. He put it on & started strumming it a bit with no sound and then came back in , a little off, if I remember correctly. It definitely wasn't Adam's fault, his guitar messed up - big time."

Notes:
Good sounding recording. There is, basically, zero bass but the vocals & guitar (treble) are exceptionally clear but, again, virtually no bass. Use your imagination, I guess. This sounds very much like a very intense cardioids recording. Very nice though, pretty interesting sound, overall. I really have no idea where the taper was standing but he must have been closer than farther away. Adam has some trouble with his guitar during Undertow but other than that a pretty good & standard performance. This recording is probably best for people who are interested in hearing a different type of Tool recording/sound than is common with most recordings.
