2002.07.29 - Bossier City, LA, USA @ Century Tel Center
Source: Mini Disc --- Core Sound Binaurals > Sharp MT-877
Notes: Perhaps it is merely me, but I really like the sound of CSB's when listening to a recording. The taper must've been standing relatively close to the stack, but not directly, as the sound is un-obscured & very accurate but not 'on the rail', per se. Perhaps the only issue is that the bass sort of hits a little hard. Very good recording though, all around. Tool seems to be sounding pretty good but, if I remember correctly, this is around the time when Maynard was having vocal problems and the performances suffered. For fun, check out the performance on 07.26.02 for more info... This performance has another life to it, at least in my view. Funny, you can kind of tell a difference in his voice but it so slight, you would miss it if you weren't looking for it. Like a lot of things in life, I suppose. If anything, it seems like Maynard, more so than Dan, Adam or Justin is simply run-down & tired.
Maynardism: "Mike & John from Tomahawk. Thank you very much. They met because both of their Dad's were in Asia, the band, not the continent. Thank you for sharing this moment with us. Hopefully we've inspired you all to go home & have sex. You can start now if you'd like..."
